WHEN GOD SHOWS UP

(BEING CONSCIOUS OF GOD’S PRESENCE)

New Life Bible Church

Appear: come in sight, show up, to become evident or manifest,  to come into existence, enters the scene.

1. His appearance in our lives produces confidence.

Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink. 1 John 2:28

Keep up your courage,  for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told;  Look!; I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a Son of God.” Acts 27:25; Daniel 3:25

The disciples had gathered together, but, fearful of the Jews, had locked all the doors in the house. Jesus entered, stood among them, and said, “Peace to you. The disciples, seeing the Master  were exuberant.  “Peace to you. Just as the Father sent me, I send you.” John 20:19-21

But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; Acts 7:55

2.  His appearance in our lives shows us endless possibilities.

We are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, we will see Him just as He is. 1 John 3:2

Jesus said, with people its impossible, with God all things are possible. Matthew 9:26

Jabez prayed,  Bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection—don’t let evil hurt me.” God gave it. 1 Chronicles 4:10

It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us! And Jesus said to him, ‘If You can? All things are possible to him who believes:  Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise!” Mark 9:22,23, Luke 7:12,14

God will lavish you with good things: children from your womb, offspring from your animals, and crops from your land, the land that God promised your ancestors that he would give you. God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lender not the borrower, head, not the tail; top dog, never the bottom dog. Deuteronomy 28: 11-13

3.   His appearance in our lives, removes our guilt.

He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 1 John 3:5

NOTE: Guilt is cultivated when we continually allow ourselves to dwell and think about how badly we’ve messed up, our pasts, the sins we’ve committed, etc. The devil loves to remind us of our past failures, so he can keep us thinking about them. The problem is, if we allow ourselves to fall for this trap, it allows him to build what God calls a stronghold in our minds.

Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go from now on sin no more. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. John 8:10-11; Romans 8:1

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. 1 John 1:9; Isaiah 43:25

Don’t allow satan or anyone cause you to come short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble. Hebrews 12:15

4.  His appearance helps us to  march on towards our destiny.

The Son of God appeared, to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8b

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10

There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” Exodus 3:2,3

Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” John 4:6,7

As Saul (Paul) was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” Acts 9:3,4

By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, when Jesus shows up. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back or looking back. Philippians 3:12-14
