Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 4:12

And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient, receiving him with fear and trembling. 2 Corinthians 7:15

Proverbs:  Godly sayings that if obeyed would enhance the quality of our Christian experience.

1. This life becomes less important and eternal life becomes more important.

Ants—they aren’t strong, but they store up food all summer.  Ants  labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter. Proverbs 30:25; Proverbs 6:6

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

Don’t store up treasures here on earth,  Store your treasures in heaven.  By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. Matthew 6:19,20; 1 Timothy 6:19

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. Romans 8:18

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 2 Corinthians 5:1

2. You become more appreciative of God’s blessings and His plan for my life.

Lizards—easy to catch, but they are found even in kings’ palaces. Proverbs 30:28

Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. 2 Kings 6:17,18

From one man He created all the nations, the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined their boundaries. Acts 17:26

From one man He created all the nations, the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined their boundaries. Acts 17:26

All praise to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing even before he made the world, God loved us and chose to be holy , God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family. Ephesians 1:3-6

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.; He made the stars also. Psalm 19:1-3; Genesis 1:16

3. You are truly a team player, you are a joy to work with

Locusts—they have no king, but they march in formation. Proverbs 30:27

The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. The body has many different parts, not just one part.. 1  Corinthians 12:12

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:26,27

I solemnly command you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus and the highest angels never take sides or show favoritism to anyone. 1 Timothy 5:21

4. Your weaknesses (trials and tribulations)  cause you to seek the WORD.

Badgers—they aren’t powerful, but they make their homes among the rocks. Proverbs 30:26

From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take my pain away. But He said to me, “My WORD is sufficient for you, .” 2 Corinthians 12:8,9

I used to wander off when disciplined ; but now I turn to the WORD. Psalm 119:67
