EASTER “SONRISE” SERVICE

A DAY OF HOPE”

New Life Bible Church

April 16, 2017

Allen McLauchlin, Pastor

A family friendly, never alone, purpose driven church

We wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3

We had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel. What is more, it is the third day since all this took place.  Luke 23:21

HOPE: In Biblical sense, it is something that is definite . What can we be definite about when it comes to our understanding of EASTER.

1. God understands our journey and is capable of helping.

If only there were someone to umpire between us, to lay his hand upon us both.

Job 9:33

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 2:5

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:15,16

2. There is a glorious life awaiting me after death.

If a man dies, will he live again? Job 14:14

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies. John 11:25

But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought! Job 19:25-27

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

3.  Jesus is always just a prayer away.

If only I knew where to find him;  if only I could go to His dwelling.  Job 23:3

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7,8

Just call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16

4. God has made me holy and deserving of His grace through Jesus Christ.

Job answered the LORD:   "I am unworthy--how can I stand  before you? Job 40:3

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9

When you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, this wins favor from God. 1 Peter 2:19
